starlingsExperience thousands of starling's roosting here on the Ceredigion coast. They can usually be seen throughout the autumn and winter months. They flock here in huge numbers and form a large roost as they shelter under Aberystwyth Pier. Numbers vary widely between years and months with an estimated 3000 roosting at the Pier in November 2008 and 75,000 estimated in December 2008, although numbers usually peak at around 20,000 to 30,000. Often at dusk you can experience the synchronised movement of large flocks creating spectacular formations.
